Vientiane downtown and Lonely Planet update

When I arrived in Vientiane in August 2009 the OpenStreetMap was quite empty, there were only some unconnected roads traced from Yahoo imagery and a few points of interest. It was my second or third weekend when I took my GPS, a pencil and a sketchbook and started mapping the downtown.
Things change fast in Laos and restaurants come and go. From time to time I added a new hotel here and a new shop there but never systematically. That's why I decided some days ago to map again the downtown and update all the points of interest.
See the following screenshots that shows the map development in Vientiane downtown:

On an other day I took the latest Lonely Planet edition to check if all the recommended eating, drinking and sleeping places are on OpenStreetMap. Unsurprisingly, there were still a few missing (and some are already gone again). So I put the GPS on my bicycle and rode across the city to search all these missing places. As always while mapping, I've discovered also this time new places and parts of the town, and that's definitively the fun part of mapping.
Except one restaurant I found all missing points of interest. Now I'm happy to say that all Lonely Planet recommendations are on OpenStreetMap! Isn't that one reason more to use OpenStreetMap?
